Saxony-Anhalt is in the heart of Germany, bordered by Lower-Saxony, Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg. Its extensive infrastructure provides good connections between airports and the places of the Reformation. From the state capital, Magdeburg, it is 150km to Berlin, 280km to Hamburg, 420km to Frankfurt/Main and 225km to Frankfurt/Oder. Halle an der Saale, which is also in Saxony-Anhalt, and Leipzig in Saxony, which is less than 40km away, both profit from the airport Leipzig/Halle.

The A2, A9, A14 and A38 motorways, well-built national roads and one of the most extensive railway networks in Europe, as well as a highly efficient local transport system mean that any journey to one of Saxony-Anhalt’s tourist attractions will be short and easy.
